Serviette! Is a video made for Supper Club, a monthly event ‘creating space for soulful interaction’.

The piece was projected over the dance floor, enacting the movements served by participants. The work is intended to emulate the flow of the space and group within.

Serviette is in reference to the tissues to be considered in a community dining and movement project: both fascial and fabric.

Serviette is a class defining word. Since the Norman conquest of 1066, French culinary terms became typical jargon used by the aspirational middle class. In this context it speaks to the congregating space between server and diner. Serviette is serving. It is performance and flamboyance.
